Oh the ruler of saints and the ruler of crestfallen !
As we recall the sufi song Kun Faya Kun which means Be and it is ! This song was penned down by an eminent Indian poet and lyricist Irshad khamil The phrase ‘Kun Faya Kun’ is later borrowed by the Indian maestro and musician legendary ‘AR Rahman’, to be composed in a Sufi song mixed with Urdu and Hindi language hence the melodious aria was envisaged.
We become ecstasic and jubilant once we hear this song as we understand the lyrics, every word has a deep meaning which is instrumental to lift us up mentally after being outrageously downed by series of mistakes and sins that we ourselves fall into. Indeed this composition has been a cream of the top to put our hope and faith onto Him and always remember that whatever happens is within His power and mercy, Glory to him .
As the saying goes seeing is believing our legendary Maestro AR Rahman has not left any stone unturned to give the perfection to his composition!
Should you know how often he visited the Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah in Delhi to create this song? Its Almost one year during the making of this song he personally had a ziyarat of the Dargah with barefoot wherein he watched the Qawwali and later imparted the real life experience to a beautiful composition which has made a divine dent in everyone's hearts today ! He says it was all predefined and the he was guided according to master wish.
Kun Faya Kun is a phrase from Surah Yasin —a guiding star of all the verses which is coined as cynosure of the holy Quran which literally means, “Be and it is!”.
The verbatim understanding has something to do with the creation of this world as per the Holy Qur’an. Even though Qur’an at various places says that the Earth and Heaven were created in six phases, the phrase that mentions Kun Faya kun symbolizes the fact that, ‘When He decrees a thing, He says to it only: “Be!” And it is’. And as per the holy book this is how the creation of the universe deemed into a reality. Instantly, with the phrase Kun Faya kun.
